Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Assistant Finance Manager is responsible for supporting the day-to-day financial management of the organization. The role includes financial reporting, budgeting, accounts management, taxation, statutory compliance, internal controls, and assisting in financial analysis to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Management

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements.
  • Review and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records.

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Monitor budget performance and investigate variances.
  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations for cost control.

3. Accounting Operations

  • Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Review journal entries, reconciliations, and payment schedules.
  • Ensure timely invoicing and collections.
  • Monitor fixed assets and depreciation schedules.

3. Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare management reports, MIS reports, and KPI dashboards.
  • Analyze financial performance and identify trends.
  • Support profitability and cost analysis for projects or business units.

4. Taxation & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations (VAT, Corporate Tax, etc.,).
  • Coordinate statutory audits and internal audits.
  • Liaise with external auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities.

Internal Controls

  • Implement and monitor internal financial controls.
  • Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation measures.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Team Management

  • Supervise and mentor junior finance staff.
  • Assist in training and performance evaluation.
  • Allocate work and ensure deadlines are met.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Timely completion of monthly financial reports.
  • Budget variance within acceptable limits.
  • Accuracy of financial statements.
  • Timely statutory and tax compliance.
  • Cash flow management efficiency.
  • Successful completion of internal and external audits.
  • Reduction in finance process turnaround times.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Commerce.

Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CMA, or CIMA is preferred.

5 - 8 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting.

Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Zoho or Tally is an advantage.
