A little taste of your day-to-day: Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be: Financial Operations & Oversight Directly oversee the day-to-day operations of the Finance and Purchasing departments. Ensure that Accounts Payable, Income Audit, and General Cashier functions operate strictly according to company policies. Manage the Accounts Receivable function to ensure timely collections and policy compliance. Financial Reporting & Control Take full responsibility for the month-end close process, ensuring all hotel and corporate deadlines are met. Prepare and distribute financial statements to the Executive Office as requested. Conduct thorough preparation of all balance sheet reconciliations. Implement and maintain internal financial controls in accordance with IHG HAM and CSA guidelines. Manage both internal and external audits when they occur. People & Team Leadership Act as a role model by living and delivering on Guest and Colleague Promises. Coordinate with HR to identify training needs and implement programmes for the accounting team. Provide input for performance appraisals and coach colleagues to enhance performance. Guest Experience & Strategic Support Resolve guest billing disputes and answer queries to maintain high service standards. Actively participate in the annual budget and regular forecasting processes. Liaise with other departments (Front Office, F&B, Sales) to support their financial queries and coordination. Represent the Director of Finance & Business Support when absent from the property. Responsible Business Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and the IHG Code of Conduct. Monitor and report on energy metrics and Green Engage compliance. Maintain proper archiving of all relevant commercial and financial documents. What we need from you: Education: University or equivalent degree in accounting. Experience: Experience as an Assistant Financial Controller (ideally 2 years) within the hotel industry. Technical Skills: Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and International PMS/POS systems. Systems: Knowledge of Opera and PeopleSoft would be an advantage. Mindset: A hands-on professional who enjoys a collaborative environment and can represent the Director of Finance when necessary.
