REQUIREMENTS:

  • Be close to or have completed an accountancy qualification.
  • Proven experience of being a leader within a team.
  • Business partnering & cost accounting experience
  • Proven, hands-on experience of management reporting in a large and complex business.
  • Analytical, quick to grasp the fundamentals of a business and have strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work with Senior Stakeholders
  • Experience working within a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage a high-volume workload in a fast-moving and changeable environment.
  • Fluent in English both verbal and written. Another European Language (French, Polish, German) an advantage but not essential
  • Office IT literate, preferably with strong MS Excel skills
  • Sage or any other ERP systems knowledge
  • Maintaining a can do, positive attitude with a focus on high level internal and external customer service.
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting into a Head of Finance, the responsibilities of the AFC is to primarily support the Head of Office by taking ownership and leadership of the Postage and Freight function. Items such as P&L accounts, accruals/prepayments, plus ad hoc duties to support stakeholders around the group. The role primarily focuses on core management accounting principles to ensure high levels of financial control is maintained through robust processes and accuracy. The AFC acts as a subject matter expert and point of reference for activities or issues related to the aforementioned tasks and ensures that related processes are executed in line with the Group procedures and according to the internal and external audit requirements. The final key function of this role is to grow and development a team of aspiring accountants by bringing experience to evolving them and role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assume responsibility for the Postage P&L, by maintaining accuracy across client costs and revenues.
  • Own the month-end process for P&L and BS, demonstrating a keen eye for detail.
  • Ownership of month-end procedures including accruals, prepayments, courier claims and supporting client billing.
  • Develop and build on processes to extract efficiency across the team.
  • A proactive approach to month-end and financial planning.
  • Take part in divisional finance and internal stakeholder meetings as and when required.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify recurring issues and potential room for improvement within current processes.
  • Strive to achieve best practice performance levels against agreed set of KPIs.
