Job Description The role will be supporting hotel leaders to maximize financial strategy, enhance operational performance, delivery of financial reporting, setting up & optimizing internal controls, team management & development. The Assistant Finance Controller will work closely with the Area Finance Controller to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the finance department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The key responsibilities for this position are: Preparing daily, weekly, monthly reports, annual budgets, and rolling forecasts in accordance with the reporting calendars and Finance Policy Manual and ensuring that all reports are submitted on a timely basis and accurate. Taking full responsibility for month-end closing including preparing monthly financial statements for distribution to Department Heads and Executives, and preparing all journal vouchers for month-end closing. Preparing monthly reconciliation of all Balance Sheet accounts and taking actions accordingly. Assist with Internal/External Audit as well as the all regulatory and Tax related matters. Monitor and analyse financial performance against budget and forecast. Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. Ensure compliance with hotel policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations. Provide support to other departments regarding financial matters. Supervise and train finance department staff. Reviewing expense requests prior to approval and payment in line with delegated authority. Performing related duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications At least Bachelor Degree in Accounting or equivalent At least 3 - 5 years experienced in related work field in overall supervision of accounting functions with experience in general ledger accounting. Previous experience in accounting or finance & accounting in hotel business is preferable. Strong managerial and leadership skills and strong result orientation Strong analytical skill, problem solving skills, and inter-personality skills. Fluency with computer applications particularly Microsoft office applications - strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint capabilities, and ability to understand ERP systems. Proficiency in English Language and Portuguese communication with reading, writing and speaking skills Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
