POSITION SUMMARY:
The Assistant Fire Chief / Deputy Emergency Management / Training Officer is a senior leadership role within the Fire and Emergency Management Department responsible for supporting the Fire Chief/EMA Director in the administration and coordination of fire suppression, emergency management, and training programs. This role ensures operational readiness, regulatory compliance, and the continuous professional development of personnel. The position also serves as a key leader in the development and implementation of emergency management strategies and training initiatives for both fire personnel and broader community stakeholders. Director may have full access, to the scenes of an emergency, declared emergency, disaster, or catastrophe to immediately investigate, analyze, or assess the seriousness of all situations; to coordinate the establishment and operation of a local incident command or management system; to execute the local emergency operations plan, as appropriate; to activate the local emergency operations center or on-scene command post; to convene meetings, gather information, conduct briefings and fully expedite and direct the disaster and emergency response of all local public and private agencies
