Assistant Floral Designer

at  Fair Sun Farm

Description:
We are looking for someone to join our farm team to act as as assistant floral designer. The successful candidate will be working directly with the farm owners and other people on the design team.
Timeframe:
Start: June 1, 2025
End: Oct 31, 2025
Hours:
4-15 hours per week
Part-time positions available.
Pay:
Will be determined based on qualifications of the candidate. Starting at $17.20 - $20.00/hr based on experience.
Tasks:
-harvest and strip stems in preparation for design work
-maintain the cleanliness and organization of the workspace
-wash and prepare vessels needed for floral arrangements
-manage inventory and ensure that all necessary supplies are stocked
-assemble hand-tied market bouquets following a specific ingredient list
-design and create unique and beautiful floral arrangements for various occasions, such as weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, and corporate events
-process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system
Successful candidate will:
-be reliable and punctual
-have transportation to our farm in Spencerville, ON
-be able to lift 20 pounds
-be able to work on their feet for most of the day
-be trustworthy
-possess good communication skills
-possess knowledge of flowers, plants and foliage
-be observant and attentive to details
-be able to follow instructions and ask questions when needed
-be able to work on a team
-be able to work independently
-be able to stay calm under pressure
