POSITION SUMMARY:

The person in this position assumes responsibility for the staffing, execution and coordination of the entire front of house Food and Beverage operation in the absence of the Asst. Director of Food & Beverage. This person will liaise with the culinary team to coordinate service of all areas. The other main function of this role will be to oversee and plan banquet events. This position will work closely with the planning and sales teams to ensure banquet events are exceptional showpiece events with a high attention to detail. This will be a salaried role and the successful candidate will be required to work forty hours per week at a minimum including evenings, weekends and the occasional holiday.

CERTIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Smart Serve Certification (Required)
  • WSET Level 1 (Required)  Post-Secondary Education in Hospitality or Related Discipline. (Required)
  • WSET Level 2 / 3 (Preferred)

Responsibilities
  • Along with Asst. Director ensure all service standards are in place for both the North and South Wings.
  • Along with Asst. Director ensure all staff has been trained and is performing according to service standards and SOPs.
  • Assist Asst. Director in weekly scheduling and labour control.  Oversee Bridges when Connections is assigned to the F&B Supervisors for a particular evening (dinner service) and no other functions are going on (private Banquet events in other places on property).
  • If many events are going on throughout property Assistant Manager becomes an orchestrator with the Asst. Director versus just being assigned to one area. This especially is important if the Asst. Director cannot be physically on property.  Attend all necessary meetings – afternoon CEO meeting with planners, daily and weekly meetings with Asst. Director, any other special meetings as noted.
  • Will work with the Asst. Director to create annual food and beverage budget and determine staffing needs.
  • Will work with the Asst. Director on any service charge structure if alterations need to occur.
  • Will work alongside Asst. Director when necessary to hire new staff.
  • Will deal directly with any employee performance issues in the evening or during a time when they are the food services point person and are in charge on behalf of the Asst. Director
  • Will have a working knowledge of all banquet events occurring that week. Organize logistics with Asst. Director for all catering events.
  • Will orchestrate actual event for any social functions. Including set up and break down of the events. Responsible for ensuring that Kingbridge Banquets are our “Best Foot Forward” by using overseeing setup and providing tasteful décor and florals.
  • Will work with Asst. Director to ensure all inventories are managed.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all Liquor Control Board of Ontario rules and regulations and the beverage policies of The Kingbridge Centre.
