At the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law, researchers work on fundamental questions and current challenges of international law, European Union law and the public law of various states. The Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law invites applications for a 50% part-time position as an
Assistant for Science Communication (x/f/m)
for the collaboration in the research area of Dr. Morales
(Ius Constitutionale Commune en América Latina, comparative and foreign
public law)
The position is initially limited to 1 year and will be remunerated according to the collective agreement for the public service (TVöD-Bund) in accordance with the personal requirements up to pay group 9a.
In cooperation with the Scientific Coordination of the Institute, the person will support the Spanish-language research project ICCAL through activities in the field of science communication, in particular in the development and maintenance of the new project website, in the social media, through cooperation in the further development of communication formats and with events and communication in general.

Responsibilities
  • Development of a website for the research project (Wordpress), communication and consultation with the web development agency
  • Maintain and update the website, write articles for the website in Spanish and English
  • Participation in academic events, record and upload image and video material
  • Further support for the research project’s activities in the field of science communication, especially in social media
  • Collaboration in the further development of communication formats (social media, blogs, podcasts, etc.)
  • Support in the general event and communication activities of the project

Your Profile

  • Training or studies in the field of digital media, communication sciences, law, political or social sciences, Latin American studies, Romance studies or translation studies
  • Good knowledge of Spanish and English (knowledge of German is considered an advantage)
  • Previous knowledge in the field of digital media, science communication or web design for science is desirable
  • Good IT skills and experience with social media content and website management (previous experience with Wordpress is considered an advantage)
  • Good sense of language and linguistic style
  • Interest in new forms of multilingual academic communication in legal studies, in the inter-American human rights system and Latin America is desirable
  • Internships and experience in this field are considered an advantage
  • Commitment, flexibility, creativity, ability to work in a team as well as a structured, independent and resultsoriented way of working
