Job Title: Assistant Fresh Meat Chargehand
Reports to: Fresh Meat Chargehand, Store Manager, Store Owner
Direct Reports: All employees within Butcher
Main Purpose of the Job:
Manage the Meat Department and ensure it operates efficiently and effectively at all times in the absence of the Fresh Meat Chargehand. Provide our customers with excellent quality and products and services. Communicate to team any range changes, offers or new initiatives.
Relevant Skills/Experience:
· 1 years’ experience in a Supervisor/Manager role;
· Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Butcher;
· Craft Butchery course desirable;
· Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word);
· Numerical skills required;
· Experience in gross profit and margins desirable;
· Good stock control;
· Creative;
· Excellent communication skills;
· Ability to engage with and prioritise customer needs;
· Accuracy, attention to detail, organised and flexible;
· Ability to use own initiative and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment;
· Previous customer service experience is an advantage.
Main Duties
1. To ensure the highest standard of customer service is given to all customers at all times
2. To participate in weekly stocktaking
3. To ensure ordering of stock is carried out in accordance with procedures and control of stock rotation, so that quality and freshness of goods is of the highest order so as to maximise turnover (in absence of Chargehand)
4. To adhere to company rules, policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
5. To ensure the highest standards of hygiene are maintained at all times
6. To ensure merchandising and presentation of the department is to the highest standard at all times
7. To ensure standard and promotional pricing is maintained correctly (weekly)
8. To ensure Goods In procedures are adhered to
9. To be aware of and adhere to Health & Safety Regulations relevant to your department and to notify any breaches to management
10. To perform any other duties as directed to you by management from time to time
11. To ensure you understand and comply with all company hygiene, HACCP and food safety procedures
12. To provide a friendly, efficient and polite service to all our customers at all times
