This leadership position is responsible for ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient checkout operations, and a well-organized front-of-store experience. With a strong foundation in retail service and team collaboration, you will support and guide front-end team members in delivering legendary service—greeting customers with warmth, resolving concerns with care, and creating positive interactions that reflect the heart of the Sunterra experience.
This is a hands-on, supportive leadership role that requires a passion for people, a commitment to operational excellence, and a desire to grow within a dynamic retail environment. You will assist in planning, organizing, and executing daily front-end functions while ensuring that departmental goals—as communicated by the Front-End Team Lead and Market Manager—are consistently met or exceeded.
A key part of the role includes overseeing the checkout experience from start to finish, ensuring every transaction is smooth, accurate, and concludes with a successful carryout. This final touch helps complete an immersive, polished, and unforgettable shopping experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Previous experience in customer service, preferably in a grocery or retail environment.
· Demonstrated leadership potential or prior supervisory experience.
· Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
· Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures.
· Passion for food, people, and creating positive experiences.
· Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
· WHMIS and Food Safety certification (training provided by Sunterra).

Responsibilities

· Ensure effective and proper procedures for customer checkout, handling of tenders, and use of PLUs.
· Perform opening and closing procedures for cash registers.
· Assist in bagging groceries and maintaining a clean, organized front-end area.
· Memorize and utilize popular product codes (especially produce) to ensure efficient transactions.
· Answer incoming market telephone calls and assist with customer inquiries.
· Process online grocery order invoices and assist customers with pick-up orders.
· Demonstrate advanced knowledge of Sunterra’s loyalty programs (Fresh Rewards and Team Member discounts).
· Understand and assist customers with the company website, including grocery and meal ordering, and the sign-up/registration process.
· Maintain attractive and effective customer service displays using approved marketing materials.
· Follow and comply with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adhere to safe work practices.
· Support the training and onboarding of new front-end team members.
· Provide daily coaching and guidance to ensure consistent, high-quality service.
· Assist in enforcing company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
· Help manage team scheduling, shift coverage, and labor control.
· Act as a point of contact in the absence of the Front End Team Lead, ensuring continuity of leadership and service.
