ASSISTANT GUEST SERVICES MANAGER

Location: Tofino, BC
Job Type: Full-Time
Wage: Starting at $50K annually plus commissions
Start Date: ASAP

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven leadership experience in a luxury hospitality environment.
  • Experience with using a Property Management Systems (PMS). Experience with Skytouch, Cloudbeds or Opera PMS will be preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in room controlling and assignment
  • Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Experience in conducting group and in person training sessions will be an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an approachable and motivating leadership style.
  • Candidates with a BC Class 5 Driver License or a license from a different province that can be converted to a BC Class 5 license will be preferred.
  • Possess great verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure situations.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, administrative, and multitasking skills.
  • Reliable, accountable, and confident handling payments and sensitive information.
  • Flexible availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand, walk, and be active for up to 10 hours per shift
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, lifting, pushing, and pulling
  • Comfortable working outdoors in variable weather conditions
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps

  • Criminal Record Check: Required prior to start date.
  • Reference Check: Two professional references will be contacted.
  • Driver’s Abstract: Required for roles involving use of company vehicles or driving duties.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Assistant Guest Services Manager at Long Beach Lodge Resort, you will lead and inspire our Guest Services Team, ensuring exceptional service and seamless operations that reflect our standard as Tofino’s premier accommodation. You will manage daily front office activities, mentor team members, support the Guest Services Manager with administrative tasks, and coordinate with all departments to create memorable, personalized guest experiences. Through your leadership, problem-solving, and enthusiasm, you will help foster a welcoming environment where both guests and staff feel valued and supported.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee daily Guest Services operations, including check-ins, check-outs, reservations, group events, and weddings.
  • Provide administrative support to the Guest Services Manager, including scheduling, reporting, and documentation.
  • Mentor, train, and empower Guest Services team members to deliver outstanding service.
  • Ensure smooth coordination for special events and group stays.
  • Set a positive example through professionalism and service excellence.
  • Address guest concerns promptly with effective service recovery.
  • Maintain open communication between all departments for seamless service.
  • Oversee shift transitions, ensuring accurate handovers and task completion.
  • Manage wholesaler and OTA reservations with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure the professional presentation of both front and back-office areas.
  • Spot-check reservations to confirm adherence to established procedures.
  • Collaborate with Accounting to address and resolve transaction errors.
  • Assist with inventory control and ordering for Guest Services supplies.
  • Contribute to Guest Services training initiatives and new staff onboarding.
  • Manage hotel gift shop inventory, ordering and sale tracking.
  • All other duties assigned.
