ASSISTANT FRONT OFFICE MANAGER

The assistant Front Office Manager serves as the first point of contact for all guests. As such, the ideal candidate should be friendly, welcoming, patient, helpful, and knowledgeable. Their duties may include greeting guests as they come in, managing the check-in and check-out process, answering questions and requests, and helping with administrative tasks at the front desk.
Hours of work: Flexible however generally 7am - 3pm or 3pm - 11pm including weekends
Rate of pay: £27,500 - £30,000 per year depending on experience

Key Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • taking bookings and cancellations, usually by phone, email or face-to-face and recording the information on computer
  • checking in guests, allocating rooms and handing over keys
  • answering questions about hotel facilities and about local transport, places of interest and entertainment
  • dealing with special requests, such as room service, taxi bookings or wake-up calls
  • answering the phone and dealing with the email and mail
  • checking out guests, adding up their bills and taking their credit, debit card or cash payments
  • Ensure implementation of all hotel policies and house rules
  • Works within the allocated budget for the front office
  • Supervises workload during shifts
  • Monitors and liaises with other departments to ensure smooth running of the hotel
  • To have an element of sales knowledge to bring in and to maintain corporate accounts to further drive accommodation bookings
  • Maintains working relationships and communicates with all departments
  • Assists other departments where necessary

Located in the heart of Worcestershire, 10 minutes from the M5 motorway, sits Stourport Manor Hotel. Once home to Stanley Baldwin, Prime Minister three times between 1923 1927, it’s welcomed many dignitaries over the years. Set in 23 acres of wonderful grounds, the hotel has 72 bedrooms including family bedrooms, stylish wedding venue with capacity for 220 guests. Swimming pool, sauna, steam room, spa bath and gym, tennis courts, squash courts and foot golf. Our secluded yet accessible location has free parking and ample landscaped gardens to create the perfect inspiration for a short break, a wedding or a business conference.
