About North Laine Brewhouse
Step into the heart of Brighton’s social scene! North Laine Brewhouse isn’t just a pub – it’s one of the biggest and most exciting venues in the city, known for its craft beer, buzzing atmosphere, and unforgettable nights.
With 22 lines of beers on tap, a huge entertainment space, and activities ranging from interactive darts and shuffleboard to live music and DJs, this venue is built for good times.
As part of the North Laine family, you’ll join a hugely successful management team with years of experience behind them, working in a venue that continues to grow and push boundaries.
We’re now on the lookout for a dynamic Assistant General Manager to bring energy, ideas, and leadership to a space that never stops moving.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the General Manager in day-to-day operations of a large, fast-paced venue
  • Leading, motivating, and coaching the team across bar, floor, and events
  • Ensuring exceptional guest experiences, from relaxed afternoons to packed-out live nights
  • Driving sales, profitability, and performance through strong operational management
  • Overseeing stock control, rota planning, and compliance standards
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members
  • Taking ownership of key areas of the business and stepping up in the GM’s absence
  • Working with the events team to deliver live music, quizzes, and entertainment nights
  • Maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and hospitality excellence
  • Acting as a role model on the floor – visible, approachable, and hands-on

What You Will Bring

  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a busy pub environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a large team
  • A passion for craft beer, entertainment, and delivering unforgettable guest experiences
  • Confidence in handling high-volume operations with calm, clear decision-making
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail across compliance and operations
  • A proactive, hands-on attitude – you lead by doing, not just directing

What We Can Offer

  • Live-in accommodation available
  • Free meal on duty
  • Team drinks after work
  • Generous staff discounts across the Laine pub estate
  • Real career progression with a company that’s growing and investing in people

This is your chance to take the next step in your career at one of Brighton’s flagship pubs, surrounded by craft beer, creativity, and a culture that thrives on fun and flair.
