JOB SUMMARY

The Gather Company, which owns & manages historic B&Bs across the country, is looking for a senior operational leader, responsible for front-line success & guest experience.
The Assistant General Managers (AGMs) and Innkeepers act as House Leaders. We expect the AGM to be a hands-on leader, with the dream job of running a bed & breakfast of their own.
This role is designed for the energetic senior leader who wants to leave their mark on a property & community.
This role is based in St. Augustine, FL

BACKGROUND & PREREQUISITES FOR QUALIFICATION

While we believe in the importance of a diverse leadership team, welcoming any & all candidates of various experiences, the Gather Company AGM is expected to have…

  • 3-5+ years of hospitality lodging leadership
  • Success in managing both front and back of house teams
  • Guest Relations acumen, handling issues quickly & well
  • P&L or Budget ownership, keeping a business within financial plan
  • Multi-directional communication skills: to guests, team members, and ownership
  • Understanding to Revenue Generation, leaning towards optimizing Top Line
  • 2+ years of kitchen experience is a plus
  • Industry related certifications, such as ServSafe
  • Competency on basic technologies, such as Guest Management Systems
  • Proficiency in localized history and storytelling
  • Understanding of The Gather Company vision for guests & team members
  • Natural tendency towards complete ownership & pride in work

GUEST EXPERIENCE

Clean Sweep: Oversee QA process so that every room is up to standard, whatever it takes, and making the call to close a room as needed to ensure premium experience
Welcome Home: prepare for every guest, knowing their background, treating the guest like family – and ensuring the team does the same
Own the Issues: handle all guest complaints or issues with proactive service recovery to ensure full & satisfactory resolution of complaints

TEAM LEADERSHIP

Appropriate Coverage: the AGM needs to have the right amount of staff on shift, but within budget expectations. This entails looking forward at demand & planning efficient use of all staff.
Clear Communication: consistent direction for the team, through meetings, 1-1s, and feedback sessions are necessary to achieve standards, including “drama”
