The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is a dynamic and highly visible leader who thrives in a fast-paced, late-night environment. Partnering closely with the General Manager, the AGM drives exceptional evening operations, cultivates an energized and hospitality-driven team, and ensures every guest interaction feels seamless, celebratory, and memorable. This role is ideal for a leader with a passion for nightlife, beverage excellence, and creating high-impact guest experiences. Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership Lead high-energy nightly service, ensuring seamless execution from peak hours through close. Own the flow, pacing, and energy of the room, maintaining a vibrant yet controlled environment. Oversee reservations, guest arrival experience, VIP seating, and table management with precision. Partner with security and door teams to manage capacity, guest experience, and safety standards. Ensure music, lighting, and ambiance align with the brand experience throughout the night. Sales & Brand Growth Drive revenue through premium beverage sales, bottle service and elevated upselling techniques. Actively engage with guests to build relationships, enhance experiences, and drive repeat visits. Support nightlife programming, special events, and activations that position Nubeluz as a top NYC destination. Financial Performance Support P&L management with strong focus on beverage cost controls, high-volume efficiency, and revenue optimization during peak hours. Partner with bar leadership to ensure accurate inventory, minimized waste, and strong margins. Team Leadership & Development Recruit and develop a high-energy, nightlife-savvy team that thrives under pressure. Lead impactful pre-shifts focused on cocktails, service flow, guest engagement, and sales strategy. Coach teams on reading the room, anticipating guest needs, and delivering elevated nightlife hospitality. Maintain team morale and performance during extended late-night service. Guest Experience & Service Excellence Be highly visible during peak service, acting as the face of leadership on the floor. Deliver a luxury, high-touch experience while maintaining speed and efficiency. Handle guest recovery with confidence, discretion, and a solutions-driven mindset. Elevate VIP and repeat guest experiences through personalization and attention to detail. Project Support & Programming Support late-night programming, DJ/events, private events, and seasonal activations. Assist in developing experiences that keep Nubeluz at the forefront of NYC nightlife. Requirements Required Qualifications 3–5+ years of FOH leadership experience in upscale, high-volume nightlife, lounge, or cocktail-driven environments. Strong background in beverage programs, cocktails, and nightlife operations strongly preferred. Proven ability to lead teams during high-pressure, late-night service. Experience managing VIP guests, reservations systems, and high-volume floor operations. Strong leadership presence, emotional intelligence, and decision-making skills. Knowledge of DOH regulations, alcohol service laws, and nightlife compliance standards. Passion for hospitality, music-driven environments, and high-energy service. Must have full availability to work late nights, weekends, holidays, and extended evening hours. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Ability to work late-night shifts consistently, often extending past standard operating hours. Stand and walk for extended periods (8+ hours in a high-energy environment). Lift/push/pull up to 30 lbs. occasionally. Comfortable working in loud, high-volume, dimly lit environments with music and crowd density. Exposure to varying temperatures, crowded spaces, and fast-paced service conditions.
