Job Title Assistant General Manager - EHS & Sustainability Reporting To Plant Head Location Gangaikondan Grade/ Level 2B Job Objective The Assistant General Manager – EHS & Sustainability will be responsible for implementing and monitoring Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs and driving sustainability initiatives across the organization. This role ensures compliance with statutory regulations, promotes a safe workplace culture, and supports the company’s sustainability goals. Key Responsibilities Responsibilities KPIs 1) Ensure adherence to local, national, and international EHS regulations and standards. Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections regularly. Maintain and update EHS documentation, permits, and reports. 2) Investigate accidents, near misses, and environmental incidents. Implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence. 3) Conduct EHS training programs for employees and contractors. Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. 4) Coordinate with internal teams and external agencies for compliance and sustainability reporting. Assist in preparing sustainability disclosures and certifications (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ESG reporting). SECTION VI: ROLE PROFILE REQUIREMENTS Education Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Safety Management, Engineering, or related field. Experience 15–20 years of experience in EHS and sustainability roles. Competencies CORE COMPETENCIES LEADERSHIP/ BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES Attention to detail and compliance mindset. Ability to influence and drive behavioural change. Proficiency in EHS management systems and sustainability reporting tools.
