Role: Assistant General Manager Summary: Oversees the quality and success of Goldfish Swim School daily operations including staffing, pool operations, cash management, customer service, retail and vending department, private party operations and workplace employee activities. Primary Responsibilities: Directs and controls the daily operations to ensure the school is running according to GSS standard operating procedures Assists General Manager and department managers with fulfillment the daily tasks Manages the staff and encourages high productivity, excellent performance and positive employee satisfaction Trains and oversees the aquatics department to provide superior swim instruction to the students Gains knowledge and experience in the pool operations necessary to maintain a safe and sanitary swim environment Initiates workplace employee engagement with the goal of achieving improved employee satisfaction Provides direction in the retail and vending departments; also provides sales and marketing training to all qualified staff Works with staff on class scheduling, student progress, customer service and employee performance & training Directs and oversees the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan and all safety procedures for the facility and trains staff Advances through cross-training in multiple roles and substitutes when necessary Acts as a GSS “ambassador” to provide a Golden Experience to our students, families, and team members Job Qualifications and Skills: Prior related leadership, management and teaching experience is preferred (supervisory roles) Problem solver and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter Excellent communication and organizational skills Must pass background examinations prior to training Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED is required. Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred. Experience working with children preferred. Previous management/supervisory experience required. Certificates and Licenses: Lifeguard, CPR/AED and first Aid certification required. Work Environment: While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity.
