Assistant Manager – Il Corvo, North Vancouver
Il Corvo is excited to launch a new Italian dining experience to North Vancouver in 2025, rooted in handmade pasta, seasonal ingredients, and genuine hospitality. We’re seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Manager to help bring this vision to life, someone who can support our leadership team, ensure smooth daily operations, and inspire our front of house staff to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
Position Overview
As Assistant Manager, you’ll work closely with the General Manager and ownership to uphold service standards, guide the team, and keep operations running seamlessly day to day. You’ll play a hands on role in supporting staff, handling guest interactions, and ensuring Il Corvo delivers on its mission to be a welcoming neighbourhood gathering place. This role is ideal for someone who’s ready to grow as a leader in hospitality while helping shape a brand new restaurant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Daily Operations: Assist with opening and closing duties, staff oversight, and ensuring smooth service throughout shifts.
  • Lead and Motivate Staff: Help train, mentor, and support front-of-house employees to deliver consistent, high quality service.
  • Guest Experience: Act as a point of contact for guests, handling feedback and resolving issues with warmth and professionalism.
  • Ordering & Inventory Support: Assist with monitoring inventory levels and placing orders as needed to ensure proper stock and minimize waste.
  • Staff Scheduling: Support the General Manager with creating and managing schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized front-of-house environment, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • Collaborate with Leadership: Partner with the General Manager and Head Chef on promotions, events, and initiatives that connect with the community.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of supervisory or assistant management experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and support a team
  • Excellent communication and guest service skills, with a solutions focused mindset
  • Organized and dependable, able to manage multiple responsibilities during busy service periods
  • Familiarity with POS systems, scheduling software, and ordering processes is an asset
  • Serving It Right required

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base Salary: $50,000–$65,000 annually
  • Tips: Participation in the restaurant’s tip pool
  • Health Benefits: Extended health, vision, and dental coverage
