Position Summary The Assistant General Manager (AGM) supports the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations with a focus on front-of-house leadership. This exempt, non–tip-eligible role is responsible for hiring, training, and staffing FOH team members, ensuring smooth execution of service, and maintaining high standards of safety, sanitation, and hospitality. The AGM also assists with cost control, facilities management, and operational excellence, playing a key role in delivering Olive & Finch's mission of exceptional food and guest experiences. Key Responsibilities Oversee and support FOH operations, ensuring seamless guest experiences. Hire, train, schedule, and develop FOH staff, fostering a positive and professional culture. Uphold safety, sanitation, and compliance standards throughout the restaurant. Assist the General Manager with cost controls, including labor, supplies, and operating expenses. Ensure facility and equipment are properly maintained; coordinate repairs and upkeep. Lead pre-shift meetings and provide in-the-moment coaching to FOH team members. Support implementation of systems, checklists, and training programs to maintain consistency. Monitor guest feedback and assist with service recovery when necessary. Partner with BOH leadership to ensure communication, timing, and execution between FOH and BOH. Step in to lead shifts in the General Manager's absence. Qualifications 2–4 years of progressive restaurant management or leadership experience required. Proven ability to lead, train, and develop diverse FOH teams. Strong knowledge of guest service, safety, sanitation, and facilities management. Solid financial acumen with experience in cost control and scheduling. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Work Environment & Physical Requirements This is a hands-on leadership role requiring extended periods of standing, walking, and interacting with staff and guests in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Must be able to bend, lift up to 50 lbs., and manage shift demands. Flexible scheduling including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
