POSITION: Assistant General Manager – Parks & Rec LOCATION: Blue Ash, OH REPORTS TO: General Manager - Parks & Rec COMPENSATION RANGE: $53,200 - $71,900 VARIABLE COMPENSATION: Up to $9,900/year for achieving specific performance metrics POSITION SUMMARY: As the Assistant General Manager at Parks & Rec, you will partner with managers across the space to help oversee daily operations of the facility, while directly managing front-of-house operations and supporting back-of-house operations. You'll be driving the teams’ excellence in guest experience, helping to develop the Parks & Rec leadership team, and leading the charge when it comes to operational performance. Collaboration Engagement: Assists GM in creating a culture where people are motivated to do their best through recognition, development opportunities, and clear communication of how individual contributions connect to organizational success Communication and cross-functional operations: assist GM in seamless execution across all departments (FOH, BOH, and Private Events) Ensures Accountability: Holding self and others accountable to meet commitments Servant Leadership: Leading with a people-centric approach that inspires and motivates teams while driving cohesion and collaboration across all operational areas (FOH, BOH, and Private Events) Manages Conflict: Handling conflict situations effectively by staying curious, maintaining objectivity, and ensuring resolution approaches align with company policy and legal requirements ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Leadership & Team Development Partner with GM and People Strategy to help support and execute recruitment strategy, performance reviews and follow up on annual engagement and pulse surveys. Ensure effective communication between teams. Assist with development and implementation of standard operating procedures and training programs throughout the business, including opening & closing operations etc. Partner with the GM and People Strategy to model what it means to lead, coach, and develop team members aligned to our PODs (Points of Differentiation)… We are Warm & Welcoming We Craft to Exceed Expectations Together, We Plant a Better Community Financial Performance & Operations Management Support the General Manager in P&L management and budget planning, including labor scheduling and optimization across all teams; AGM focused heavily on FOH management. Partner with the General Manager to achieve guest count, PPA, revenue, and other financial targets & goals. FOH schedule/team requests and needs management with FOH manager support. Assist GM oversight of beverage program execution, including beer, cocktails, and non-alcoholic offerings. Partner with the GM on inventory management and QA follow-ups, oversight, and delegation of tasks. Guest Experience & Service Excellence Drive guest satisfaction through active floor management, programming and service standard implementation and delivery of our PODs (Points of Differentiation)… We are Warm & Welcoming We Craft to Exceed Expectations Together, We Plant a Better Community Work as floor manager during shifts to oversee service sequence execution, visit tables and interact with guests, monitor door procedures, and maintain effective guest flow control while delivering hospitality excellence. Monitor and respond to guest feedback, implementing service improvements as a result. Technology & Facility Management Help support GM oversight of POS systems, scheduling platforms, and operational technology to ensure efficient workflows, accurate reporting, and seamless guest transactions. Help support GM oversight of repairs and maintenance of the facility in a timely manner Compliance & Risk Management Assists with ensuring compliance with all safety and sanitation standards, and champions the education of their team around this. Assist to maintain compliance with alcohol service laws, food safety standards, labor regulations, health department requirements, MadTree policies, wage and hour laws, tip reporting, safety protocols, and emergency procedures with proper documentation and reporting. Resolve employee and guest conflicts through service recovery and implement changes as directed by leadership. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform essential duties, accountabilities, and responsibilities satisfactorily. Must be at least 21 years of age or older. 3+ years of hospitality management experience in a high-volume ($5M+) restaurant/bar setting strongly preferred Experience managing teams of 30+ people Strong understanding of both front-of-house and back-of-house operations Proficiency with restaurant management platforms including R365, Toast, Google Suite, etc required IMPORTANT SKILLS & ABILITIES: Required to work evening hours, weekends, and holidays. Management work week averages 45-50+ hours per week and more deemed necessary at various times. Positive attitude and strong desire to be helpful with a friendly, service-orientated mindset to be in the service of guests and staff at all times. Strong skills in time management and with the ability to prioritize tasks. Comfort with working independently, multitasking, and maintaining efficiency and productivity. Advanced knowledge of financial and general math concepts and proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets. Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast paced environment. Attention to detail: recognizes the importance of quality, making sure that even the smallest of details are not overlooked.
