Peggy’s Skylight are hiring for a Assistant General Manager role.
Peggy’s Skylight is a full restaurant, bar, and jazz club nestled in the heart of
Hockley. For more than 7 years, we have been providing a stage for the best and
brightest talent in the UK Jazz scene and beyond. We are proud to serve amazing
Middle Eastern food, local drinks, and believe that every night should be special for
every customer. We are looking for a full time Assistant General Manager to support
the General Manager with delivering superb service with high attention to detail.

ABOUT YOU:

We’re looking for a passionate and enthusiastic person above all! Someone with
prior management experience is essential, as well as a track record of going
above and beyond in hospitality.
The ideal candidate would have:
- At least one year in hospitality management
- Demonstrable experience on bar, floor, and hosting
- Experience with running events is a plus, but not necessary
- A can-do attitude, and a person-centred approach
- A willingness to go the extra mile, but a knowledge of when to draw firm
boundaries
- Top tier communication skills, both in person and written
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene best practices
- A love of jazz would be great, but isn’t expected!

Responsibilities
  • Support the General Manager and team on daily service.
  • Managing a small team during service between Wednesdays and Sundays and we also host private events outside of service hours.
  • Ensuring a smooth and efficient running of the venue during service hours.
  • Hosting - Welcoming customers, dealing with queries and complaints and general service duties.
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, and deal with any issues that may arise.
  • Support with team training, scheduling, and management.
  • Handle guest enquiries through phone, email, and in person. Taking table bookings and creating floor plans.
  • Handle stock, EOW duties, ordering, cashing up, and opening and closing the venue.
