POSITION OVERVIEW

We’re seeking a hands-on, motivated Assistant General Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, people-focused environment. The AGM will work closely with the General Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, staff management, guest services, and overall hostel atmosphere. This role is perfect for someone who has hospitality or management experience, loves working with people, and is passionate about creating memorable travel experiences.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous hospitality or management experience (hostel/hotel experience an asset).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Comfortable with technology and property management systems.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • A people-person who enjoys meeting travelers from around the world!
Responsibilities
  • Support the GM in managing daily hostel operations, ensuring smooth check-ins/outs, housekeeping, and front desk service.
  • Assist in hiring, training, and scheduling staff.
  • Handle guest feedback and resolve issues with professionalism and positivity.
  • Help oversee hostel facilities, safety, and cleanliness standards.
  • Contribute to community-building events and ensure the hostel remains a welcoming, social environment.
  • Step into the GM role when needed, making strong decisions to keep things running smoothly.
  • Lead by example by providing excellent guest service while supporting and motivating the team.
