Description General Purpose To provide every guest with the warmest and most memorable Sonny’s experiences through managing the people that make it happen. Essential Duties (may include, but not limited to) Our managers put the spark in sparkler, the fire in bonfire, and the smoke in the smoker! They make sure the aces are in their places and that our Sonny’s restaurants run like a well-oiled machine, so that our guests get that one-of-a-kind experience that they have come to know and expect at each and every Sonny’s location. More specifically managers: Assists the General Manager with the ongoing training and development, scheduling, and evaluations of the managers in his/her store; Assists the General Manager to ensure that Assistant Managers execute the training and development programs correctly. Supports the General Manager by acting as a resource by identifying and addressing the individual needs and concerns of Managers and hourly team members in his/her store. Ensure that our restaurants have a fun, playful, and engaging atmosphere-if there is no fun it shows to our guests! Are the go-to guys, or gal, for all our fab team members; they go out of their way to address the individual needs and concerns of our team members every day! Assists the General Manager with providing clear benchmarks and expectations to hourly team members so that each shift runs smoothly. Partner with the General Manager to oversee and ensure all hourly team members’ performance is meeting company expectations through constant follow-up and communication. Respond to immediate store needs (yes, they put out “fires” from time to time --not in the literal sense, that is!!) Ensure every guest receives exceptional service and a memorable experience; They take a smokin’ experience to the next level by really getting out in the restaurant and connecting with our guest! Execute all operations policies, procedures, and programs within the store (and ensure they are followed by others to keep Sonny’s a great place to work!) Report information to General Manager through plans of action, AOR’s, goals, etc. (they are always thinking about ways to make Sonny’s the premier BBQ brand!) Bend over backwards if other tasks come up-Our managers do what it takes to get the job done! Requirements Qualification Requirements You are passionate about BBQ and love working with people. Required Skills and Experience Been there, done that – At least two years related experience and/or training in the restaurant industry. Plays well with others and lends an ear when needed - Excellent interpersonal skills. Juggles everything that needs to be done with strong time management skills. You were a great student! –Strong reading, writing, and mathematical skills will really help you get the job done! Proven business knowledge and success as a Assistant General Manager in the restaurant industry is a necessity for this role! Jumping in and leading the way for others will be expected! You don’t have to be a computer geek, but good computer skills are needed, including experience with Microsoft Office programs. Education Requirements High School Diploma or GED; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. While performing the duties of your job, Managers regularly work with or near moving mechanical parts, may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, and are requested to work with cleaning chemicals which can be toxic and/or caustic. Managers may be exposed to temperatures between 0°F and 100°F. As a Manager, you must have the ability to perform the essential functions of the job for up to a 12-hour shift.
