Job Details Job Location: Ensworth School - Nashville, TN 37221 Position Type: Part-Time / Seasonal Education Level: Accredited 4-year Bachelor Degree Job Posting Summary: Ensworth is a kindergarten through twelfth grade independent, coeducational school that fields 18 TSSAA Varsity sports (and multiple JV sports) in addition to Swimming & Diving, Lacrosse, Mountain Biking, Cheer, and Ice Hockey. We are seeking a Girls Lacrosse Assistant coach that will uphold the Ensworth vision statement of “a school community dedicated to following the highest principles with the greatest love, as characterized by moral integrity, intellectual vitality, discipline, compassion, humor, and joy.” It is imperative that our coaches embody our vision statement, are self-motivated, communicates clearly, seek to learn more about his/her sport, and loves teaching. Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Abide by Ensworth’s Employee Handbook and Code of Conduct Commit to the ideals expressed in the Ensworth Mission Statement, Vision Statement, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Statement Understand the strategic vision of the Girls Lacrosse program for grades 6-12. Lead in alignment with our vision by reflecting a commitment to competitive excellence and a dedication to mentoring students within a vigorous academic environment. Manage human resources within the Girls’ Lacrosse program leading to internal accountability as well as external collaboration, integration, and advocacy. Collaborate with the Head Coach to attract student-athletes to our admission pool. Collaborate with the Head Coach and Athletic Director regarding use, care, and development of Girls’ Lacrosse program. Prioritize the overall well being of our student-athletes by adhering to TSSAA health and safety regulations and partnering with our Sports Medicine team. Qualifications/Experience: Education: Bachelor’s Degree is required Prior experience/background: Prior Coaching experience preferred Technical Competency: Basic understanding and ability to use computers and technology is required Communication: Well-developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with all constituents in a school environment, including students, co-workers, interns, parents, alumnae, volunteers, and the public is required Personal Characteristics: Adaptability, honesty, self-reliance, teamwork, dependability, flexibility, willingness to listen and learn, work ethic, determination, persistence, problem-solving skills, loyalty, and congeniality are essential. Must successfully complete background screening and verification Physical Requirements and Work Environment: Conditions/climate: Regularly work in your team practice/game environment as well as in a standard office environment. Vision: Must be able to observe students from various distances Movement: Frequently required to move around for extended periods of time Lifting: Ability to move team equipment Mental: Must be able to occasionally work in a stressful environment, effectively deal with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and maintain stamina to provide attention to detail Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours Ensworth requires employees to be physically present on campus, with limited exceptions that are at the sole discretion of the School.
