Description The Assistant Superintendent supports the Golf Course Superintendent in the daily management and maintenance of the golf course and grounds at Red Tail Golf Club. This position plays a key leadership role in supervising staff, planning daily operations, and ensuring high-quality playing conditions. The Assistant Superintendent is a hands-on manager who leads by example, contributes to agronomic decision-making, and helps create a positive, productive work environment. Primary duties include assisting with daily scheduling and course setup, supervising and training maintenance personnel, monitoring turf health, assisting with chemical and fertilizer applications, and supporting irrigation system operation and maintenance. The Assistant Superintendent will also ensure safe equipment operation, regulatory compliance, and step into a leadership role when the Superintendent is absent. Requirements Minimum 2+ years of experience as an Assistant Superintendent or in a comparable turf management role Proven personnel management and leadership skills Strong time management, planning, and organizational abilities Massachusetts Pesticide Applicator License (required) Valid driver’s license (required) Working knowledge of turfgrass management practices and golf course maintenance operations Ability to effectively communicate with staff and management Willingness to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work in outdoor conditions
