Through sound judgement and analytical decision-making, the Director of Golf acts as a compass of our motto and, under the guidance of the General Manager, oversees the entire golf operation. The Assistant Golf Professional supports the Head Golf Professional in managing the golf operations, delivering exceptional member service, and ensuring the smooth running of daily golf activities. This role involves teaching golf, organizing tournaments, and assisting with retail operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Golf Instruction: Provide individual and group golf lessons to members and guests of all skill levels. Develop and implement instructional programs to enhance members' golfing skills. Tournament Management: Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of club tournaments and events. Ensure events run smoothly and meet members' expectations. Customer Service: Offer exceptional customer service to members and guests. Address inquiries and resolve any issues related to the golf course and its facilities. Pro Shop Operations: Assist in the management of the pro shop, including inventory control, merchandising, and sales. Provide recommendations for equipment and apparel. Course Management: Collaborate with the course superintendent to ensure the golf course is maintained to high standards. Monitor play to ensure pace of play and adherence to club rules. Administrative Duties: Handle administrative tasks related to golf operations, including scheduling, record-keeping, and reporting. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Head Golf Professional and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and efficient golf operation. Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience preferred. Previous experience in a golf operations role or as an assistant golf professional is advantageous. Strong knowledge of golf rules and techniques. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Proficiency in golf software and general office software (e.g., MS Office). PGA Membership or progress towards certification is desirable. Professional demeanor, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. PGA or LPGA certification preferred, but not required. Language Skills: The individual must have strong written and verbal communication skills in order to communicate effectively with employees and clients at all levels of the organization. Availability: Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays, depending on business needs.
