Job description
Sunnyside Produce is looking for an Assistant Grower to join the company and work with a diverse workforce. You will be tasked with assisting the head grower with daily duties, also taking care of various food safety audits that we do annually. Outside of the roles outlined below there will be basic crop work to be done such as picking and pruning.

Sunnyside Produce is a family-owned company that grows bell, mini sweet and crescendo peppers for the North American market. We currently have 85 acres of the most high-tech greenhouses in the world.
Role and Responsibilities
· Priva Assist
· Food safety audits
· Ethical audit
· CFA audit
· Canada Gap audit
· AWSA pesticide audit
· WorkSafeBC
· Operating roof washer
· First Aid
· Assisting Growers in Delta
· Greenhouse Maintenance
· Monitor and inspect plants, keeping them pest-free.
· Data collection on plants
· Work with Grower to ensure labour is properly planned and co-ordinated.
· Communicate regularly with the Grower to provide information re: crop applications, irrigation needs, crop movement, and timing.
· Apply and mix fertilizers and pesticides as needed.
Requirements and Preferred Skills
· Fluent in English
· Interested in Plants/Growing crops.
· Team player
· Technical skills (Irrigation and heating)
· Problem Solving
· Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office (Excel and Word)
· Horticulture diploma is an asset.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $35/hr

· Secondary School
· Post secondary is an asset.
