We are seeking an Assistant Group Home Manager to join our team and support the daily operations and quality of care in one of our Bergenfield group homes. The Assistant Group Home Manager plays a vital role in the overall management of the home and assumes leadership responsibilities when the Group Home Manager is unavailable. This position involves supervising direct care staff, providing hands-on support to clients, overseeing household operations, maintaining accurate documentation, and coordinating both medical and program needs. In this role, you will train, supervise, and support direct care staff while assisting clients with Activities of Daily Living. You will participate in the development, implementation, and documentation of Individual Habilitation Plans and provide transportation for clients using a company vehicle, ensuring all relevant information is communicated. Additional responsibilities include overseeing household and individual finances, participating in shopping, meal planning, and meal preparation, and maintaining communication with families, guardians, and the Group Home Manager. You will also share on-call responsibilities, enforce organizational policies, maintain compliance standards, orient new staff, ensure proper staffing coverage, and coordinate and monitor individuals’ medical care, follow-ups, and related documentation. This is a key leadership position that directly supports the mission of Spectrum for Living and contributes to a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for the individuals we serve. Qualifications A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, along with a valid, non-probationary driver’s license. One year of supervisory experience is preferred. The work schedule is Sunday from 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday from 8 AM to 4 PM, Tuesday from 3 PM to 11 PM, Wednesday from 3 PM to 11 PM, and Thursday from 8 AM to 4 PM, with Friday and Saturday off.
