THE ROLE

We’re seeking a confident and charismatic Assistant Head Sommelier to join the vibrant front of house team at The Roof Gardens. As a warm and professional presence, you’ll become a familiar face to our members, ensuring their experience is seamless, welcoming, and memorable from beginning to end.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Minimum 1 years’ experience as an Assistant Head Sommelier in the luxury hospitality market
• WSET qualification or equivalent industry certification
• Oversee daily wine service operations, including opening and closing duties, ensuring full compliance with quality and service standards
• Support the creation and management a wine list that reflects The Roof Gardens’ commitment to excellence, working closely with Head Chefs, the F&B Director, and Restaurant Managers
• Collaborate with the Head Sommelier and Head Chefs to develop innovative wine pairings that complement the menu offering
• Partner with the Head Sommelier, Bars Manager and F&B leadership team to analyse daily reports, implement strategies, and achieve revenue targets for the Sommelier department
• Design and deliver comprehensive wine training programmes for F&B, FOH, and Events teams to enhance product knowledge and boost sales
• Lead and communicate effectively with the Sommelier team to ensure clarity of responsibilities and delivery of exceptional service
• Assist the Head Sommelier in recruiting, training, and retaining a high-performing team of professional, well-presented Sommeliers
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends
