Job Description Title: Assistant Coach – Tennis Job Summary: The Assistant High School Tennis Coach will assist the Head Tennis Coach in the planning, organizing, and execution of tennis practices, competitions, and events. This role involves contributing to the MCS “Live, Love, Learn” culture by helping to develop athletes' skills, ensure team safety, and provide support during competitions. The Assistant Coach reports directly to and will work closely with the Head Tennis Coach to foster a positive and supportive environment for all athletes. Lines of Authority: Reports directly to the Head Tennis Coach. Education: High School Diploma Licensure: N/A Experience: Experience coaching or playing in tennis. Skills: Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Organizational management skills. Ability to communicate with students, teachers, parents and members of the community. Ability to exercise good judgment and work in an environment with frequent interruptions. Transportation: Reliable transportation. Environmental and Working Conditions Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Physical and Mental Effort: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk; use hands for fine manipulation, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, climb or balance, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Classification Exempt Essential Functions Essential functions of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following functions. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Instructing players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport. 2. Assess player’s skills and monitor players during competition and practice. 3. Responsible for facility and equipment upkeep. 4. Coordinating the scheduling of games and practices. 5. Plan logistics and transportation for events during and outside of school hours. 6. Mentoring and coaching the athlete. 7. Assist in the fundraising of the Sports program. 8. Responsible for financial budgeting of the Athletic program. 9. Follow the guidelines in regards to student eligibility in extracurricular activities. 10. Maintain a liaison with parents. 11. Provide for the care and protection of school property. 12. Promote a healthy environment through effort and example. 13. Interacts thoughtfully and courteously with students, staff and community. 14. Attend work regularly and is punctual. 15. Other duties may be assigned as needed. 16. Attends in-service trainings and staff meetings.
