• EHD is looking to add an Assistant Coach to our coaching staff for the upcoming season.We’re looking for someone who is passionate about player development, communicates well with young athletes, and wants to be part of a competitive and positive team environment.ResponsibilitiesAssist the Head Coach with planning and running team practices
• Provide individual feedback and instruction to players during practices and games
• Help develop players’ individual skills, hockey IQ, habits, and overall understanding of the game
• Support bench management and in-game coaching
• Work collaboratively with the rest of the coaching staff on team systems and player development
• Help create a positive, competitive, accountable, and enjoyable environment for players
• Attend team practices, games, tournaments, and other scheduled team activities
• Serve as a positive role model for players both on and off the ice
• QualificationsPrevious hockey playing and/or coaching experience
• Strong understanding of hockey skills, systems, and player development
• Ability to communicate effectively with young athletes, parents, and coaching staff
• Reliable, organized, and committed throughout the hockey season
• Strong leadership skills and a team-first mentality
• Hockey Canada coaching certifications are considered an asset
• Experience coaching competitive youth hockey is considered an asset
