Premier’s Department Assistant Household Services Officer You. At the centre of big ideas. Deliver hospitality and guest services for high-profile events at Government House Sydney. Bring your expertise in function management and food & beverage service. Temporary, Clerk Grade 5/6 role ($99,938 - $110,271 per annum), until June 2027 based at Government House Sydney, with the possibility of extension or conversion to ongoing. About the Role As the Assistant Household Services Officer you will play a key role in coordinating hospitality, catering, and guest services for events at Government House Sydney. You will liaise with event organisers, manage consumables and assets, and supervise rostered personnel to ensure the highest standards of service. This role is pivotal in supporting the Governor’s program of official engagements by maintaining the needs of official functions and events, third party clients, guests and visitors whilst protecting the heritage, tradition, and status of the property. About Government House Sydney Government House Sydney, the residence and the seat of administration of the Governor of New South Wales – the oldest statutory office in Australia - is staffed by employees of the NSW Premier’s Department. The team at Government House Sydney supports the Governor in the conduct of constitutional, ceremonial and community duties. We're Looking For Events & Function Management Experience: You will have extensive experience in function management and the ability to manage staff and contractors. Protocol Experience and Qualifications: You will have detailed knowledge of Vice Regal protocols and standards of food and beverage service. You will hold a current accreditation for Responsible Service of Alcohol and Food Handling. Commitment to Customer Service: You will be passionate about providing an exceptional customer experience, with the ability to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You have the flexibility to work evenings and weekends. Attention to detail: You will be observant and responsive while maintaining accurate and detailed records of assets such as cutlery, crockery, silverware, crystal ware, linen and napery.
