JOB SUMMARY:

The Assistant Housekeeping Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean and attractive facility, ensuring guest satisfaction, and overseeing the housekeeping staff’s performance. This position involves supervising and training various housekeeping roles, managing shift schedules, and assisting the Housekeeping Manager in daily operations and staff evaluations.

• Provide an attractive and clean facility for guest rooms and all public areas, including offices, linen closets, and supply closets, and other areas designated to be maintained by the Lodging Department; ensure they are maintained to the standard as trained.
• Resolve guest problems skillfully with a willingness and desire to understand a guest’s viewpoint and to take necessary steps so that the guest is satisfied when they leave.
• Ensure all housekeeping employees comply with the correct use of chemicals and equipment as trained.
• Regulate shift coverage for optimum effectiveness by scheduling staff according to business levels and labor standards.
• Assist in the training of new employees, especially during the spring opening phase. This will include Room Attendants, Inspectors, Housepersons, Porters, Linen Truck Drivers, and Office Assistants.
• Supervise the Rooms Inspector staff with the Assistant, daily morning meetings, making inspections together, and identifying and providing challenges for those with managerial potential.
• Assume the Housekeeping Manager’s daily duties in their absence.
• Assist the Housekeeping Manager in coaching and evaluating the entire housekeeping staff.
