About the role Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant in Nursing (AIN) to join the Emergency Department. The position on offer will be a permanent full-time role. Working under the supervision of the Registered Nurses within the ED, you will work as part of an established proactive team supporting Registered and Enrolled Nurses in the provision of safe, quality patient care. Salary range: $34.20 -$37.44 per hour plus superannuation [https://www.ato.gov.au/tax-rates-and-codes/key-superannuation-rates-and-thresholds/super-guarantee] and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 [https://account.smartsalary.com.au/benefits-available?ercode=MML]  + access to many staff benefits!  [https://www.mater.org.au/group/careers/working-with-mater]  What you’ll be doing As an Assistant in Nursing (AIN) within the Emergency Department, you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to support the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal care, mobility, meal assistance and emotional support, helping to ensure their comfort and wellbeing during their time in the department. You may also provide one-on-one patient supervision and support nursing staff with a range of patient care activities as delegated. In addition to patient care, you will contribute to the smooth operation of the Emergency Department by assisting with stock management, equipment cleaning and maintenance, and ensuring clinical areas remain safe, clean and well organised. Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, you will play an important role in supporting exceptional patient care and positive patient experiences. About you The successful applicant will possess: * Knowledge of Infection Control procedures and processes * Appropriate certification as an assistant in nursing – Certificate III in Health Services Assistance or working towards same. * Previous experience working as an AIN in a emergency or high acuity setting is desired * Excellent communication, problem solving and negotiation skills * Ability to collaborate effectively with other health professionals, patients and relatives/carers * Skills to assist with the management of stock Why join us?
