The role

The Assistant in Nursing (AIN) within the Nursing and Midwifery Staffing Team (NMST) provides adaptable workforce support which is allocated on a shift-by-shift basis across clinical areas within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service. NMST AINs are primarily utilised to fill emergent leave through daily shift‑to‑shift allocations.

NMST AINs may be required to provide one‑to‑one patient supervision (specialling) for safety, behavioural, or specific observation purposes, under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
