Preferred Care is seeking experienced Assistants in Nursing and Personal Care Workers to join our casual member pool for suitable agency shifts across residential aged care facilities and selected public and private hospitals throughout Brisbane North and South, Moreton Bay, Logan, Bayside, Cleveland, the Gold Coast and surrounding areas.
Locations may include: Sandgate, Aspley, Ferny Grove, Chelmer, Caboolture, Deception Bay, North Lakes, Logan, Mt Gravatt, Ipswich, Logan, Forest Lake, Calamvale, Cleveland, the Gold Coast and surrounding suburbs.

Available shifts vary according to location, client demand, experience and client requirements and are not guaranteed.
Hospital opportunities will be matched to members with recent hospital experience who meet the relevant compliance requirements.

About the role
- You will work across residential aged care facilities and selected hospital settings, providing safe, respectful and
- person-centred care within your role, qualifications and scope of practice.
- Depending on the facility, hospital and shift, your responsibilities may include:
- Assisting residents and patients with personal care, hygiene, dressing and daily living activities
- Supporting residents and patients with meals, hydration and continence care where required
- Assisting with mobility, transfers and repositioning using safe manual-handling practices
- Following individualised care plans, delegated care instructions and facility procedures
- Taking and recording observations where appropriate to your role and scope
- Observing residents and patients and promptly reporting changes or concerns to the supervising nurse
- Completing accurate and timely care or clinical documentation
- Following infection-control, workplace health and safety and patient-safety requirements
- Communicating respectfully with residents, patients, families and the wider healthcare team
- Supporting residents’ and patients’ dignity, comfort, independence and choices
Who can apply?
We welcome applications from:
- Qualified AINs and PCWs who hold a Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability or an equivalent qualification and have at least 12 months’ paid experience in an Australian hospital or aged care setting
- Second-year Bachelor of Nursing or Diploma of Nursing students who have completed at least one clinical placement
