The Assistant inventory Control Manager will lead the strategy, implementation, and optimization of inventory control processes across five distribution centers. Responsible for managing a substantial inventory portfolio exceeding $100 million, this role will ensure inventory accuracy, drive breakage/shrinkage reduction, and minimize product loss. The successful candidate will lead a dynamic team of 7 direct reports, fostering a culture of high performance and operational efficiency. The position requires regular auditing, problem-solving, and reporting to senior leadership, along with the creation and revision of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to implement best practices. The Assistant Inventory Control Manager will work closely with warehouse, operations, and sales teams to ensure seamless, accurate inventory operations that align with company objectives, directly contributing to long-term business success. As a key leader in inventory management, you will oversee inventory processes, improve loss prevention strategies, and ensure compliance with industry best practices to optimize inventory efficiency and reduce waste. Position Responsibilities: Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels across all storage locations. Assist with regular physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliations. Support execution of the Top‑100/Everyday Set program to ensure high‑velocity SKUs are counted daily. Ensure compliance with the 3‑day variance resolution rule by tracking open items and following up with warehouse teams. Enter and update inventory data in EOStar (WMS) and related systems. Generate EOD worksheets, weekly shrink reports, and other variance documentation for management. Coordinate with Procurement/Claims and Finance to support product write‑offs, destructions, and pending claim reconciliations. Monitor driver shortages/overages, escalating potential theft or training issues. Partner with warehouse managers and supervisors to resolve discrepancies and improve accuracy at the floor level. Communicate daily with Finance, Operations, and IT to align on inventory accuracy, AR adjustments, and system integrity. Assist in closing and controlling virtual locations and ensuring all adjustments are properly authorized. Assist in supervising inventory specialists during daily counts, variance reviews, and year‑end wall‑to‑wall inventories. Provide coaching, feedback, and training to specialists to build accuracy and consistency. Step in as acting lead when the Inventory Control Manager is unavailable, ensuring accountability across facilities. Monitor quality and accuracy of incoming goods; report damages or discrepancies. Identify and suggest improvements to inventory processes and systems. Assist with SOP creation and revision; ensure specialists and warehouse staff follow established best practices. Report out compliance with company policies surrounding maintenance of clean, organized, and safe inventory areas. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred) 4 – 6 years of experience in inventory control, logistics, or warehouse operations Familiarity with inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data entry software Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Good communication and team coordination abilities Ability to lift/move moderate weights in warehouse settings Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends if required Experience with barcode/RFID systems is a plus Salary: $67,000.00 - $69,000.00 It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
