JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT IT MANAGER

Location: Ras Al Khaimah, UAE

POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant IT Manager supports the IT department in maintaining the hotel’s technology infrastructure, ensuring uninterrupted operation of computer systems, networks, software applications, servers, and telecommunications. The role involves hands-on technical support, troubleshooting, security monitoring, and assisting in system upgrades to ensure operational excellence and guest satisfaction.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in hotel IT or hospitality-related technology support.
  • Strong knowledge of hotel systems such as PMS (Opera), POS (Micros/Simphony), and networking fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server, Active Directory, MS Office Suite, and backup solutions.
  • Understanding of data security practices, antivirus, and firewall configurations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts, weekends, and during emergencies.
  • Fluency in English; Arabic or other language skills are a plus.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the IT Manager in the day-to-day management of hotel IT systems, including PMS, POS, networks, and telecommunication systems.
  • Provide first-level support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues for both guest and staff systems.
  • Monitor and maintain server infrastructure, backups, antivirus, firewalls, and network security.
  • Ensure that all IT operations and data protection comply with company policies and UAE regulations.
  • Coordinate with vendors and external IT support providers for system maintenance and upgrades.
  • Maintain an inventory of all IT equipment, software licenses, and access credentials.
  • Support hotel departments in troubleshooting systems related to operations (e.g., Opera, Micros, keycard systems, CCTV, IPTV, etc.).
  • Train hotel staff on the use of IT equipment and software as required.
  • Participate in IT audits, assist with risk assessments, and maintain documentation.
  • Assist in the implementation of new systems, upgrades, and hotel-wide IT projects.
  • Ensure guest internet services are operating efficiently and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  • Respond to IT support tickets and issues promptly to avoid disruption in hotel operations.
