• Assistant Jazz Band Director

Summary:

• NBHS seeks an Assistant Jazz Band Director to lead and inspire our students and staff. Through strong leadership, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills this candidate will foster a positive environment for all participants.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in organizing and leading the jazz band/jazz combo
• Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement
• Support the musical development of the sections as directed by the Jazz Band Director
• Implement musical techniques needed by members of the ensemble(s)
• Assist in securing all necessary equipment and materials for rehearsals and performances
• Establish a positive rapport with students and families
• Participate in district concerts, school concerts, competitions, and community events
• Flexible schedule including working holidays and evenings
• Such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Principal or Director of Fine Arts

Qualifications:

• Experience directing jazz ensembles
• Knowledge of appropriate techniques on wind and percussion instruments
• Works collaboratively with staff and students

Terms of Employment:

• Reports to: NBHS Principal, Director of Fine Arts, CDAM - Arts
• Dates: September 1, 2025-June 1, 2026
• Rate: $2,363
