Description

East Missouri Action Agency currently has an opening for an Assistant Kitchen/Greenhouse Manager. This position is responsible for assisting the RCAP Kitchen Manager in all functions of operating the food truck and working within the program. These functions include, but are not limited to: assisting the kitchen manager in maintaining the mobile kitchen, professionally operating the kitchen for revenue solo, and/or assisting the kitchen manager, food and supply ordering/purchasing, the ability to drive the mobile kitchen and class bus (Class E required), class recruitment, clerical work, and other duties as assigned.
This position is also responsible for assisting the RCAP Greenhouse Manager in all functions of operating the greenhouse. These functions include, but are not limited to: propagating, planting and harvesting various greenhouse crops, cleaning and maintaining greenhouse equipment, sales and marketing, weekend/holiday check ups, and other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of hands on experience working in the food service industry
  • ServSafe Certified or willing to become certified
  • Experience working in greenhouses, gardening/growing preferred
  • Valid Insurance & MO Driver’s License & the ability to obtain a Class E if needed
  • Knowledge of food supplies, ordering and inventory
  • Good organizational skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Self motivated with little to no supervision
  • Work well under pressure
  • Flexible & able to handle tasks simultaneously
  • Above average computer skills & knowledge of POS systems
  • Knowledge of community/county geography, demography and resources
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of participant information
  • Ability to life over 50lbs.
  • Effective supervisory skills to train aides and volunteers
    The schedule for this position will be determined based on program needs (24 hours/week).

Starting pay is $17.00-$18.00 per hour with a part-time benefit package that includes the following:
