ASSISTANT KITCHEN MANAGER – JOIN THE BURGER-ME-UP TEAM!

Location: Stirchley, Birmingham
Reports to: Kitchen Manager
Salary: £26,000–£29,000 per year (plus tips), depending on ability.
Hours: 40 hours per week (permanent)

Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

We’re looking for an Assistant Kitchen Manager to be the Kitchen Manager’s right-hand person. You’ll lead shifts, stay hands-on with cooking, and make sure our BOH team delivers fast, consistent, top-quality food. A big part of your role will be keeping on top of prep, stock, and deliveries so the kitchen runs smoothly day in, day out.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Shift Leadership: Run kitchen shifts, delegate tasks, and keep service running smoothly.
  • Cooking & Quality Control: Stay hands-on with prep and cooking while checking dishes meet our high standards.
  • Team Management: Support, coach, and hold the BOH team accountable during shifts.
  • Kitchen Standards: Maintain food safety, hygiene, and cleaning routines.
  • Stock & Prep Management: Take ownership of prep planning, stock rotation, ordering, and deliveries.
  • Problem-Solving: Step in quickly and calmly to resolve issues during service.
  • Progression: Build the skills and experience needed to step into the Kitchen Manager role in the future.
