Description Introduction RETTEW is seeking an Assistant Landscape Architect Intern to join our Planning & Design team. This internship offers hands-on experience supporting real-world projects in our Land Development, Municipal, Survey/GIS, and/or Natural Sciences teams. You’ll work alongside licensed professionals and gain practical exposure to design, documentation, and field coordination. Work Environment Hybrid Locations: Lancaster, PA/Berwyn, PA Position Summary / What You’ll Do As an Assistant Landscape Architect Intern, you will support various teams throughout your internship with a variety of tasks. Land Development – Concept Plans, Construction Plans, 2D/3D Graphics, and Ordinance Reviews. Survey/GIS – Survey Existing Conditions and Stakeout, Support CAD Drafting, Site Visits, and Deed Research. Municipal – Plan Reviews, Grant Work, Community Design, Site Inspections, and MS4 Work. Natural Sciences – Wetland Delineations, Writing Reports, and PNDI Investigations Responsibilities / Day-to-Day Assist with site analysis, research, and preparation of base plans. Support development of conceptual landscape plans and design alternatives. Prepare drawings, planting plans, and details using CAD and design software. Assist with renderings, graphics, and presentation materials. Participate in internal project meetings and coordination with engineers and planners. Conduct limited field visits to observe site conditions and construction progress. Support permit documentation and regulatory submissions as needed. Qualifications Required Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s. Working knowledge of AutoCAD; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines. Preferred Experience with SketchUp, Lumion, or other 3D modeling/rendering software. Prior internship or studio experience related to site design or land development. Interest in multidisciplinary collaboration within an engineering environment.
