The Assistant Laundry Manager at Waldorf Astoria DIFC oversees the laundry team to ensure a continuous supply of impeccably cleaned linens, uniforms and guest garments. Responsible for both hotel and guest laundry services, the role ensures the highest standards of hygiene, care, and presentation in alignment with brand and Forbes Five-Star standards.

Responsibilities

As an Assistant Laundry Manager, you are responsible for overseeing laundry department operations to deliver an excellent Guest and Team Member experience. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Interview, train, supervise, support and evaluate the Team Members. Ensure that the laundry facility and equipment are in optimum operating condition and in full compliance with Hilton requirements and guidelines.
  • Manage departmental financial processes of forecasting, budgeting, purchasing, payroll and inventory control.
  • Supervise the timely pickup, cleaning, pressing, and delivery of hotel linen, uniforms, and guest clothing to meet business plan goals and objectives. Ensure that brand quality standards are achieved in production and presentation of all attires.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to Forbes’ Five-Star Standards in all aspects of the role, maintaining high editorial integrity, ethical practices, and quality in all deliverables
  • Support hotel’s sustainability goals by practicing responsible laundering and by optimizing resource efficiency.
  • Establish strong communication and deliver exceptional quality service to external guest laundry customers, ensuring their needs are met with attention to detail and efficiency.
  • Maintain adequate supply of clean linen for guest rooms and F&B outlets by monitoring inventory levels, anticipating demands, controlling production, and maintaining necessary chemicals and supplies. Conduct periodic linen inventories to maintain par stock levels.
  • Receive, investigate and follow-up on all customer complaints. Formulate and authorize appropriate solutions to promote guest satisfaction in adherence to Forbes’ Standards.
  • Inspect facilities and equipment to ensure operating conditions are at acceptable levels. Identify needed improvements and repairs, and ensure proper maintenance of equipment through preventive maintenance programs in conjunction with the Engineering Department.
  • Demonstrate commitment to making a conscientious effort to eliminate or reduce the risk of injury to our guests and team members, damage to our property or the property of others.
  • Train the team on appropriate and required safety & security-related training and strictly enforce safety & security-related procedures within the department.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Comply with statutory requirements regarding the workplace such as labor law, health and safety, hygiene and fire prevention
