Nacelles R&D is a part of Vestas Technology & Operations, which is the cornerstone of Vestas. Through innovation, development, and continuous product improvement we develop the products and technologies that reduce the cost of energy and bring the highest possible value to our customers and to Vestas. To put it short: Vestas Technology & Operations develops the wind power systems of the future. The Hub Module is a part of Nacelles R&D and has sites in Denmark, India, and Portugal. The module is fully responsible for the capabilities, design, specification, and documentation of the hub. This includes design and analysis from the early concept study for new turbines to the final specification for production. Additionally, we are also looking ahead to verify new technologies such that these can be part of future turbine project. The Hub team is also providing technologies in the areas of hub design and service.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor / Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural or simillar
  • 5-8 years of experience in design of large assemblies, surfaces, steel structures, casted components, sheet metal…;
  • Experience in 3D modelling and 2D drawings, PTC Creo Parametric
  • Experience with PLM software, PTC Windchill PDMLink

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for generating solutions fulfilling product and technology road maps
  • Design Engineer is responsible for providing robust, reliable, efficient design solution with highest performance, Quality and lowest cost across the value chain, implement and supervise the ECM process (Engineering change management);
  • Develop 3D-CAD design/models, 2D drawings and bill of materials based on design specifications
  • Define GPS/GD&T on drawings reflecting manufacturing standards
  • Ensure cost-efficient design and usage of standard parts as well as manufacturing standards
  • Embed relevant production knowledge into CAD and define master models, design guidelines and checklists
  • Enable delivery of work packages in time and on quality through transparent standard work flows
  • Develop products fitting to standardization and modularization strategies
