Description

INTERVIEW : THURSDAY 10 JULY 2025

Birmingham City University is a vibrant and ambitious institution with a strong reputation in the field of Business and Management. This role sits in the Department of Management, Business and Marketing, as one of two departments within the Business School. As a full-service Business School, it is home to innovative and applied teaching, impactful research, and strong professional partnerships.
We offer several programmes, such as the BA Business Management. We also deliver a vibrant postgraduate portfolio, notably the MSc Management suite, which includes pathways in International Business, Entrepreneurship and Finance. We are seeking an Assistant Lecturer in Business who can contribute to the teaching across our portfolio, particularly for our Level 7 programme. We have a strategic gap in two level 7 modules: Entrepreneurship in Practice, and Creativity and Innovation.
The successful candidate will be able to use their understanding of business (in the field of entrepreneurship, and other areas) to enhance the learner experience. We welcome candidates from a business practitioner of scholarly background.

The ideal candidate will either:

  • Have a (minimum) of a Master’s degree in a related field, with relevant industry experience for the field of business, management or entrepreneurship, or
  • Possess, or be nearing completion of, a PhD in business.

In addition, we would expect the successful candidate to:

  • Have experience in teaching, ideally in HE;
  • Be engaged in research, knowledge exchange, or professional practice to a level commensurate with teaching at levels 6 and 7.

We welcome applications from individuals seeking either full-time or part-time roles.
