We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Arts and Social Sciences: Major Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following: Assisting in course planning, development, coordination and delivery (including classroom teaching), and where necessary, programme administration in Applied Social Studies at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels; Establishing proactive liaison with tertiary education institutions in Mainland China and other relevant stakeholders; and Participating in School/University activities and administration. Candidates Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence: A higher degree, preferably an earned doctorate in Sociology, Social Gerontology or related fields with relevant teaching/professional experience in higher education institutions; A strong knowledge and research potential in relevant areas of Sociology or Applied Social Sciences; Prior knowledge about the Hong Kong education sector and willingness to travel to secondary schools and higher education institutions for programme promotion and student recruitment; Good academic and professional network for promotion of the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes; and An excellent command of English and Chinese (including Putonghua) with good interpersonal skills. The level of appointment depends on the candidate’s academic background, experience and competence in academic leadership, teaching, research, scholarly publications, etc. Terms and Conditions for Appointment An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidates.
