JOB OVERVIEW

Arcadia Global School Al Furjan is seeking to appoint an experienced, dedicated and organised Assistant Librarian to start in August 2025. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the school library, fostering a love for reading, and supporting students and staff with research and learning resources. The role includes maintaining library operations, developing digital literacy skills, and collaborating with educators to enhance the curriculum.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in library science or related field.
  • Previous experience in a school library setting is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Follett library software would be an advantage.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a passion for books and learning.

  • Assist in cataloguing, classifying, and organizing library materials.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the school library, ensuring it is a welcoming and organized space for students and staff.
  • Curate a diverse and up-to-date collection of books, and other educational resources that cater to the needs and interests of students and faculty.
  • Support circulation activities, including issuing, returning, and shelving books.
  • Help with administrative tasks such as inventory management and reporting.
  • Assist in planning and implementing library programs and events such as book fairs, author visits, and reading challenges.
  • You must always demonstrate, model and advocate the AGS Values.
