Description:
We are looking for an Assistant Logistics Manager to join our team at INDEVCO North America. This position will report to our Logistics Manager and will be responsible for managing the integration of material handling on a 3 shift operation, information flow, inventory transportation between warehouses, while overseeing stock, shipping and receiving inventory management, and DOT compliance. This position requires a strong understanding of logistics operations, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to develop and implement effective strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS - Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Liaise and negotiate with service providers.
  • Keep track of quality, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency.
  • Manage accurate stock counts through systematic cycle counts that drive inventory accuracy.
  • Manage total warehouse activity, plan routes and process shipments.
  • Managing by walking around (MBWA)
  • Resolve any problems arising or complaints related to Logistics.
  • Supervise, coach and train the Warehouse workforce.
  • Manage the company fleet (trucks and equipment), as well as material handlers.
  • Maintain all DOT compliance, comply with laws, regulations, and accreditation requirements.
  • Meet cost accuracy and timeliness targets.
  • Maintain metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) include FIFO, inventory accuracy, and OTIF.
  • Review Logistics performance with customers against targets and service agreements.
  • Collaborate with other departments as necessary to meet customer requirements.
  • Monitor the cost and efficiency of moving and storing raw materials between the company’s warehouses.
  • Advises quotations from forwarders, shippers, and clearance agents.

Requirements:
BS in Business Administration, Logistics, or Supply Chain.
Keen knowledge and understanding of production processes, material, and its usage.
5+ years of experience and a successful record in Logistics.
Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff.
Understanding of DOT Regulations.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
Computer skills: Microsoft office applications (Excel, Word etc…)
ERP systems: Microsoft AX, SAP, JD Edwards, Oracl
