Description

PCSI is looking for an Assistant Logistics Manager to lead an aircraft maintenance logistics federal contract on Edwards Air Force Base! The Assistant Logistics Manager supervises employees and assists the Logistics Manager on an Air Force warehouse and equipment accounts to ensure aircraft parts and tools are shipped and received to decentralized hangars and work stations.
This position is based in Kern County, CA and is for an upcoming opportunity, pending award. Air Force or other military logistics experience is required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Work experience in base supply systems required. Specifically, Air Force or other military logistics experience is required.
  • At least 1 year’s experience as a supervisor or manager in base-level general supply/logistics.
  • Experience maintaining reporting procedures for stock consumption, receipt, storage, and issue of property.
  • Experience conducting inventory and analyzing trends
  • Working knowledge of of stock and inventory control, accountability and responsibility, storage methods, warehouse control (receipt, issue, and disposal), and materiel handling techniques.
  • Some knowledge of Air Force warehouse operations - logistics principles and interactions (supply, maintenance, transportation, and procurement).
  • Ability to work with hazardous material and knowledge of waste procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Provide supervision of employees and ensure the work identified in the contract is performed properly, on time, safely and within budget.
  • Provide new and follow-on training and support to warehouse employees and ensure adherence to site-level Quality Control and Safety Plans.
  • Support the Logistics Manager as needed in ordering and maintaining supplies, tracking performance metrics, and addressing contractual problem areas.
  • Complete any specialized Government-provided trainings that apply to staff who report to them, in order to create more accountability and improve their own capacity for oversight.
  • Administer corporate personnel policies in accordance with contract and Employee Handbook.
  • Conduct deficiency trend analysis and provide recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
  • Assist in maintaining consistent positive customer relations through written and verbal professional communications and respond to customer inquiries and requests in a timely manner.
