Our client, a prominent organisation based in the southwest, is seeking a motivated Assistant Management Accountant to join their innovative team on a permanent, full-time basis. This office-based position offers flexible hybrid working arrangements.
As the Assistant Management Accountant, you will be a vital member of the finance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions and reporting, providing the business with essential management insights to inform strategic decisions.

The responsibilities:

• Maintain and reconcile key operational records, ensuring accuracy and completeness to support financial reporting.
• Prepare and process monthly statements for external partners, coordinating with senior stakeholders to ensure timely payments.
• Generate daily usage reports and expenditure summaries for relevant departmental managers.
• Manage invoicing processes for various products and services, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide support to the Accounts Payable team and cover their responsibilities during absences.
• Compile and analyse Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports, focusing on operational efficiency metrics.
• Conduct month-end overhead accounting and review cost centre overheads for management accounts.
• Administer new supplier setups and coordinate with external parties to ensure seamless integration.
• Offer flexible support to the finance team, including backup coverage for various roles and additional ad-hoc finance tasks as needed.

The candidate:

• Strong financial acumen with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Studying professional qualifications such as AAT, CIMA, or ACCA.
• Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced Excel skills, coupled with strong numeracy and written/verbal communication abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

This role would suit Assistant Accountant, Trainee Management Accountant, Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant, Finance Officer, Senior Finance Assistant, Senior Accounts Assistant.
The role would be commutable from Exeter, Tiverton, South Molton, Okehampton, Silverton, Thorverton, Witheridge, Chulmleigh, Cheriton Bishop.
